How to make a Custom Table - english

Hello TPPer,

I was asked again and again how to make a custom table. which software to use. how to start... ok. so i decided to share my knowledge.

the first thing we need to make a custom table is the graphic software. photoshop by adobe ist mostly used by designers on windows based computers. i know it´s pretty much expensive, but there is the possibility of using free trial versions, the cheaper light version or the older freeware version.

photoimpact by ulead is also a very good software and it is not so expensive like photoshop. there is one big advantage in using photoimpact. u can import all the photoshop tools, masks, filters, etc...

beginners should try out all of these by downloading the trial versions and should have a look on it before spending money.

if u don´t like to spend money, u can download GIMP. it´s totally freeware and it´s one of the best u can get.

all of this have something in common which u absolutely need. i talk about the functionality of using layers and objects. so any software which has this ability should work.

now about starting to build your own table. i made a guideline, easy to follow and i also prepared som templates for you. so you could follow this step by step. finally you will get your first selfmade custom table!

Yepp, thx jimmy...very nice, easy to understand "how to...". And thanks for the templates also^^ I think with this and the help of our other custom tablers, I will try some on my own!



ps: wär echt cool von dir wenn du die pdf´s "how to..." auch in´ner deutschen version bereitstellen könntest, natürlich nur wenn´s nicht zu viel arbeit macht hab noch´n altes ps 6.0 funzt das damit genauso gut?

you asked for a german version.  i will make a translation. no problem. only a question of time, so give me some days and i will post a german version too.

yor second qestion was if it also works with photoshop 6.0 ... well i don´t know. i use ulead/corel photoimpact for my own. the main features you need is using layers and objects. if this is possible with photoshop 6.0 it will work.

so noch mal auf deutsch das ganze....

ne deutsche version ist kein problem. kann ich machen. ist nicht so wild. nur die frage wann ich dafür zeit habe. geh ja schliesslich auch noch arbeiten. *g

die zweite frage ist ob es mit photoshop 6.0 geht... da hab ich keine ahnung. ich benutze photoimpact von ulead/corel. grundsätzlich brauchst du zwei programm features. ebenen und objekte. wenn dein photoshop objekte bearbeiten kann und diese in ebenen anordnen kann dann geht es. ansonsten brauchst du ne neue version. geht zwar auch mit .NET-Paint oder GIMP aber die beiden sind nicht so dolle. tip: bi aldi gab es bisher immer die alte photimpact version zum kleinen preis vor weihnachten und ostern. heisst du solltest ein photimpact 12, das läuft auch unter vista mit nem update, für so ungefähr €15,- bekommen. das ist verglichen mit dem was photoshop kostet ein witz...
