50/50 is a far cry from  your way behind so I'm not really buying that myself, but either way there really isn't a right or wrong as it's all situational. Just so happens what I would do is different from all of you. No big deal, the world keeps on spinnin

I have spun no words and happy to see why each other think way they do...lets keep it friendly and remember this a discussion...and never said "way behind"

Wasn't referring to you, was referring to bully's comment. From my perspective it makes no sense worry about the what if's of the flop, if your doing that then your playing scared poker IMHO. Each street should be played individually as they happen. Right now we are talking about pre-flop strategy and the best way to approach the situation.
I think flatting in this situation is just fine given your chip stack, it being a 6 handed table, and your pot and implied odds of the hand. If others disagree that's fine.

YES ty for posting cook...i like talking bout hands and think we should do more of it as a group...but it for me is not 2 say this is right or this is wrong.  It's to discuss and try help each other become better player or at least more situationally aware

i get ya slo...ur playing 5 handed folding 66 what are you gonna play ?...i jus dont like the situation as 2 why i said lean towards fold

And really the only thing I disagree with is that's not how I'd play it lol, I don't think folding is a bad option, just a bit conservative for me is all.

66  aint a great starting hand to raise first to take down the pot is prob expected. but if your going call a rerasie to an opponant whose nigh on pot committed with 66 ,weve not even considered you might be miles behind, then again theoretically an all in he might fold,as he could of just put you on a steal, thinking a 3 bet would make you fold, dang see this game is not easy, thats why its so popular so many ifs and buts ,

1550:325. or about 4.8:1. Obv great. Much better than the pot odds when you shove no doubt. I like the thought process, and I've inverted it on the short stack before now that I think about it. When I get reraised and I'm out of position with a shorter stack, I'm more likely to call and open-shove if the flop looks safe.

My first thought folding here was "I can find a better spot". It smelled fishy because of the really tight player in the BB and the sitting SB. However, with this player to my immediate left, I didn't want to give him the chip lead. I didn't want to even make it close. By folding I was able to maintain essentially a 2:1 chip lead on the field. And the field is still at 5 people. So there's a lot of poker still to be played. Although winning this hand would pretty much give me 1/2 of the tournament chips.  sm_ninja

You all are writing fast! lol this was a response to brian's post. There are definitely 3 correct answers here, with varying degrees of effectiveness, which is why it's a great hand to discuss (in a friendly way of course!) ;-)

I did fold. I did end up winning (related or not to this hand)

More in a second...

66  aint a great starting hand

Actually, this SHOULD be my number one reason for folding here. I like to raise (in case some of you might have noticed). a matter of fact, I raised the next two hands and made all of my money back from the raise/fold +25 chippies! I like to raise a lot and therefore I need to be more willing to fold when facing a reraise. The reason being, I'm going to have a lot harder time putting someone on hand ranges after the flop. And Brian, that IS playing scared. I admit that. But situationally speaking, for this hand, at this stage of the tournament, I chose to fold.
